PROJECT Prayer Wheel

CATEGORYInstallation
Prayer wheel is an religious object  that is commonly found in Tibetan culture. Mantras are written inside the cylinder, and the act of turning the cylinder is regarded as chanting a mantra. While I was in India for traveling, I was inspired by the prayer wheel to create this sculpture. Like a zoetrope, 8 LED lights flash to show images or text when the user rotates the cylinder. I typed the words love, peace, and wisdom in the Arduino in the cylinders, so the meaningless blinks turn into meaningful words when people rotate the cylinders.
